Kuwait - Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah has conferred the prestigious Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer upon Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his historic state visit to the Gulf nation. The honor, traditionally reserved for heads of state, foreign sovereigns, and members of royal families, symbolizes the strong diplomatic ties between India and Kuwait.
"I am honoured to be conferred the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait," PM Modi shared on X, dedicating the recognition to the people of India and the enduring friendship between the two nations. The distinguished order joins the ranks of previous recipients including former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush, as well as Prince Charles.
During his visit, Modi received a ceremonial welcome at Kuwait's Bayan Palace, complete with a guard of honor. He was warmly received by Kuwait's Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, with extensive diplomatic talks scheduled with Kuwait's leadership.
This recognition adds to Modi's recent international honors, including Guyana's highest national award, 'The Order of Excellence,' and the "Dominica Award of Honour" from President Sylvanie Burton. These accolades underscore India's growing diplomatic influence and strengthening international relationships under Modi's leadership.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the significance of the visit, describing it as historic and emphasizing the special welcome extended to the Indian Prime Minister. The visit marks another milestone in Kuwait-India bilateral relations, reinforcing their longstanding partnership.
