Delhi Airport Roof Collapse: Three Injured, One Trapped
The roof fell on cars, including taxis on early Friday morning.

New Delhi - A portion of the roof at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1 collapsed early Friday morning, injuring at least three people and trapping one person under the debris. The incident occurred amid heavy rainfall in the national capital.

Multiple fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to assist in rescue operations. Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials reported that the collapsed roof fell onto vehicles parked below, causing injuries and potential entrapment.

Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjar, addressed the situation on social media platform X, stating, "First responders are working at the site. Also advised the airlines to assist all affected passengers at T1. The injured have been evacuated to hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing."

The minister added that he is personally monitoring the situation.

Four fire tenders have been deployed to the site, and rescue efforts are continuing. Authorities are working to free the individual believed to be trapped under the collapsed roof.

This incident has raised concerns about infrastructure safety at one of India's busiest airports, especially during adverse weather conditions. Further details about the cause of the collapse and the full extent of damages are yet to be released.

As the situation develops, airport authorities and emergency services are coordinating their efforts to manage the crisis and ensure the safety of passengers and staff at Terminal 1.
