New Dehli - Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and national convenor of the AAP, walked out of Tihar Jail on Friday after the Supreme Court granted him interim bail until June 1. This decision comes as a relief for Kejriwal, allowing him to actively campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha election.
Accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal, daughter Harshita, and senior AAP leaders such as Bhagwant Mann, Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and Sandeep Pathak, Kejriwal left the jail premises amidst a crowd of supporters and party workers.
Standing atop a car's sunroof, Kejriwal addressed the enthusiastic crowd, who greeted him with slogans of 'Jail Ke Tale Toot Gaye, Kejriwalji Chhoot Gaye' (The jail's doors are broken, Kejriwal has been freed). Starting with patriotic chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', 'Vande Mataram', and 'Inquilab Zindabad', the Delhi CM expressed his gratitude towards the people for their unwavering support and thanked the Supreme Court judges for granting him bail.
Kejriwal's release marks a pivotal moment in his campaign efforts for the ongoing election. To capitalize on this momentum, the AAP has announced a roadshow in Delhi today, where Kejriwal is expected to connect with voters and rally support for his party's candidates.
With the legal hurdle momentarily cleared, Kejriwal and the AAP are gearing up to intensify their campaign in Delhi, aiming to secure victory in the upcoming polls. As the political landscape heats up, all eyes are on Kejriwal and his party's strategies in the crucial days ahead.
