New Delhi - The Congress Party, one of India's major political parties, is set to release its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 5, 2024. The manifesto, which will be the first of the country's two major parties to be unveiled, will outline the party's vision for the next five years. The Congress has already revealed 25 of its guarantees, known as 'Paanch Nyay' or the 'five pillars of justice,' which include 'Yuva Nyay' (for youth), 'Naari Nyay' (for women), 'Kisaan Nyay' (for farmers), 'Shramik Nyay' (for laborers), and 'Hissedari Nyay' (opportunities as per population proportion).

The manifesto launch will be attended by party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and former party president Rahul Gandhi, who will address rallies in Jaipur and Hyderabad on April 6. The Congress will also hold two 'Manifesto launch mega rallies' on April 6, one each in Jaipur and Hyderabad.

The Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases, with the first phase on April 19 and the last phase on June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4. The BJP, the ruling party, has also held a meeting of its manifesto committee, headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

The Congress manifesto is expected to focus on issues related to the poor, youth, women, and farmers, as well as promises such as the 'right to employment' for the youth. It may also include a legal guarantee to a minimum support price and a caste-based census.
