Bhiwandi, Maharashtra - Two people were killed and six others injured in a clash between two families in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, on Tuesday evening. The incident stemmed from an old dispute between the families' children regarding a cricket match.
The police identified the deceased as Zubair Shaikh and Ishtiaq. According to reports, the children of the two families had clashed last in past while playing cricket, resulting in injuries.
Sources allege that on Tuesday evening, the main accused, Arif Shaikh, along with his family members, attacked the victim's family with sticks and sharp weapons to avenge the previous incident. The attack left Zubair Shaikh and Ishtiaq dead, while six others were injured, with Abbu Hamza said to be in critical condition.
The incident has sparked tension in the area. Police officials, including the DCP, ACP, and local police station personnel, rushed to the spot to control the situation.
The injured family members are demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. Police sources confirmed that they have detained some of the accused. A video of the attack, which has gone viral on social media, shows the attackers from one family assaulting the victim's family.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
