Buldhana, Tamsil Shahezad Khan - Gulam Rabbani Khan was a notable figure in India's struggle for independence. Born in 1918 in Pimpalgaon Raja, Maharashtra, he initially joined the British Indian Army. However, his patriotic spirit led him to switch allegiances to the Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj), established by Subhas Chandra Bose, to fight against British rule.

Early Life and Military Career: Khan's early life in Pimpalgaon Raja laid the foundation for his future endeavors. In 1939, he was sent abroad as part of the British Indian Army. His experiences during World War II, particularly his arrest by the Japanese in 1941, were pivotal in shaping his path towards becoming a freedom fighter.

Joining the Indian National Army: Inspired by the freedom movements of his father, Gulam Mustafa Khan, and grandfather, Gulam Ahmed Khan, as well as figures like Captain General Mohan Singh and Captain Akram, Khan joined the Azad Hind Fauj's Pathan Regiment. His commitment to the cause was so strong that when questioned by British officers about his defection, he boldly declared his intention to free his country from British rule.

Legacy and Recognition: Khan's contributions to India's freedom struggle were recognized on the Silver Jubilee of India's independence on August 15, 1972, when he was honored with a Certificate of Honor and a Medal. His legacy continued until his passing on December 5, 1991.

Gulam Rabbani Khan's story is a testament to the courage and determination of those who fought for India's independence. His life reminds us of the sacrifices made by countless individuals in the pursuit of freedom.
