New Delhi: In a high-profile case that has captured the nation's attention, BRS leader K Kavitha was flown to Delhi following her arrest at her Hyderabad residence by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the controversial Delhi liquor policy case. The agency, which took Kavitha into custody last evening, transported her to their headquarters shortly after midnight for further investigation.
Upon arrival in the capital, K Kavitha underwent medical examinations at the ED office before being scheduled to appear before the Rouse Avenue court at 10:30 am today. The ED seeks to obtain a remand for her custodial interrogation.

The arrest of the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has sparked a political uproar, with her brother and former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao condemning the move as an "abuse of power" and "institutional misuse" by the BJP government. He criticized the ED's haste in arresting K Kavitha, especially since the matter is pending judicial review, scheduled for March 19th.

The dramatic events unfolded on Friday when the financial probe agency conducted a prolonged raid at K Kavitha's home in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills, culminating in her arrest. This development comes just weeks before the Lok Sabha elections and coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, for a significant roadshow.

The Supreme Court had previously granted K Kavitha immunity from interrogation until Wednesday and reviewed her petition against the ED's summons last Friday. The apex court is set to continue the hearing this coming Tuesday.
