Muslim Leaders Protest Babri Masjid Verdict, Express Concern Over Gyanvapi Mosque Case!

New Delhi, February 3: Leaders from various Muslim organizations held a press conference today expressing deep concern over the recent developments related to the Babri Masjid and Gyanvapi mosque. The conference, organized by the Muslim Personal Law Board, saw prominent figures like Maulana Arshad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, and Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, address the media.

Law Under Threat? Madani's Fiery Remarks:

Maulana Madani made strong statements regarding the Babri Masjid verdict, claiming it sets a precedent where "minority rights are sacrificed for majority sentiments, even if it contradicts the law." He went on to say, "If judgments are delivered based on faith or belief, then the law loses its meaning and minority rights remain perpetually insecure." His statement, "Burn the law libraries and law books if you are delivering judgments based on faith or Aastha!" sparked controversy and highlighted the Muslim community's concerns about the legal system's impartiality.

Gyanvapi Mosque: Mosque Committee Questions Motive, Supreme Court's Silence

Muslim leaders unanimously condemned the abrupt initiation of puja inside the Gyanvapi mosque's cellar. They questioned the timing, considering the court-granted seven-day window for arrangements, implying collusion between authorities and the plaintiff. Additionally, they expressed concern over the Supreme Court's silence on the Place of Worship Act 1991, calling it a "source of deep worry" for the community.

Representatives Raise Voices:

The press conference saw participation from prominent Muslim leaders such as Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mehdi, Maulana Syed Mahmood Asa’d Madani, Malik Mohtashim Khan, Asaduddin Owaisi, Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed, Dr. S. Q. R. Ilyas, and Kamal Farooqui. Their presence reflected the widespread unease and demands for justice within the Muslim community.

Looking Ahead:

While the press conference primarily served to express dissatisfaction with recent developments, it also highlighted the Muslim community's continued pursuit of legal remedies and its commitment to upholding the Constitution and the rule of law. The coming days and weeks will likely see further reactions and potential legal actions as the community navigates these sensitive issues.
