New Delhi- The All India Motor Transport Association (AIMTC) has urged truckers protesting against the new hit-and-run law to resume work. The development came after the truckers' body's key meeting with the government on the matter. The new rule provides for up to ten years of punishment in hit-and-run cases, which has been a point of contention for the truckers. However, the government has assured that the new rule has not been implemented yet and any decision would be taken only after discussions with the transport body.

Nationwide protests against the hit-and-run law

Truckers protesting nationwide against the hit-and-run law were urged to resume work immediately after a late-evening agreement between the transport body representing them and the government. The new penal provisions in the hit-and-run law have been a point of contention for the truckers. However, the government has assured that the new rule has not been implemented yet and any decision would be taken only after discussions with the transport body.

Withdrawal of protest

The truckers' association has also announced that the protest against the new penal provisions in the hit-and-run law will soon be withdrawn. The association has been in talks with the government to resolve the issue and has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting.

The truckers' association has urged all truckers to resume work and has assured them that their concerns will be addressed by the government. The association has also requested the government to take into account the difficulties faced by the truckers and to provide them with adequate support.
