Mana, Akola: In a shocking incident that sent shockwaves through the quiet town of Murtizapur in Akola district, a woman met a tragic end after a heated argument with her alleged jilted lover on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took a dark turn as the accused, identified as Anil Shrikrishna Tayde (45), not only took the life of the woman but also attempted to end his own.
Anil, a resident of village Lohari in Akot taluka, was reportedly engaged in an extramarital relationship with the woman from Murtizapur. Their secretive liaison involved frequent phone conversations and clandestine meetings at her village. The fateful encounter unfolded when Anil visited her home, locking the door behind him. A heated argument ensued, triggered by Anil's alleged attempt to initiate a physical relationship.
According to sources, the situation escalated dramatically as Anil, in a fit of rage, attacked the woman with a sharp weapon. The brutal assault targeted her neck, stomach, and joints, resulting in her immediate demise. Disturbingly, Anil didn't spare himself from the violence, attempting suicide by inflicting wounds with the same weapon.
Neighbors, alarmed by the commotion, desperately tried to intervene by shouting and attempting to break down the locked door. Despite their efforts, access was denied until someone managed to enter through a window. Tragically, by the time they reached the victim, it was too late, and she had already succumbed to her injuries.
The Mana Police Station promptly responded to the distressing scene, securing the area and initiating the necessary legal procedures. Following the completion of the punchnama process, the victim's body was taken for postmortem.
