Rampur UP, January 4, 2024- In a significant legal victory, the State President of the MDP Party, Arshad Warsi, and former Rampur Lok Sabha candidate, has been granted relief by the Allahabad High Court. The High Court decision annulled the Goonda Act proceedings initiated against Warsi by the Rampur district administration in September of the previous year.

Arshad Warsi, through his legal representative, filed a writ petition challenging the initiation of Goonda Act proceedings. The petition argued that the notice under the Goondas Act was issued in response to Warsi filing a complaint against certain high-ranking officials. Hitesh Kumar Mishra, counsel for Warsi, contended in Court No. 46 that the notice lacked legal merit, emphasizing its failure to encompass the general nature of material allegations.

The High Court, after a thorough hearing, sided with Arshad Warsi, deeming the contested notice under the Goonda Act legally unsound. As a result, the court not only revoked the existing notice but also freed the District Magistrate to issue a new notice in adherence to the law.

This legal development brings relief to Arshad Warsi and underscores the significance of the court's commitment to ensuring fair and just proceedings. The cancellation of the Goonda Act proceedings marks a pivotal moment for the MDP Party's State President, reaffirming his right to challenge authorities without facing arbitrary legal consequences.
