Grand Theft Auto 6 Unveiled in Jaw-Dropping Trailer Leak Frenzy

GTA 6 Trailer Leak: Rockstar Games shook the gaming world on Tuesday with an unexpected release of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, surfacing hours ahead of schedule due to a supposed leak on the now-renamed social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The trailer quickly spiraled into viral stardom on YouTube, amassing over 11 million views within a mere 2-hour window on the official Rockstar Games channel.

Confirming long-speculated leaks about the open-world game, Rockstar Games, in a subsequent press release, announced that GTA 6 is set to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in 2025. However, the statement left PC gaming enthusiasts hanging without any updates on a potential PC release, causing dismay among the gaming community.

Addressing the leak, Rockstar Games urged fans on X, stating, "Our trailer has leaked, so please watch the real thing on YouTube." This leak follows the recent buzz around a GTA 6 gameplay video on TikTok, offering a sneak peek into the highly anticipated gameplay and map, setting the gaming community ablaze with excitement.

Breaking new ground in the series, the GTA 6 trailer introduces Lucia, the first female protagonist, initially portrayed in a prison setting. As the video unfolds, Lucia and her boyfriend engage in Bonnie and Clyde-style heists in the neon-soaked streets of Vice City.

In a statement, Rockstar Games disclosed, "Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet."

Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, has set ambitious financial expectations, projecting $8 billion in net bookings from GTA 6 by 2025, according to Bloomberg. The Grand Theft Auto series, spanning back to 1997, has surpassed 400 million units in sales to date, with the last release in 2013. The decade-long gap between GTA 5 and GTA 6 has fueled anticipation among the fanbase, given GTA 5's status as the second best-selling video game globally, trailing only Microsoft's Minecraft, which boasts over 300 million copies sold.
