"Animal": A Cinematic Controversy and a Tale of Redemption

Mumbai, Maharashtra - Sandeep Reddy Vanga's latest cinematic venture, 'Animal', has been the talk of the town since its release. The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, has been embroiled in controversy due to its portrayal of disturbing scenes, especially one involving marital rape.

Mansi Taxak Speaks on the Marital Rape Scene

Mansi Taxak, who plays one of Bobby Deol's on-screen wives, opened up about the contentious scene that has sparked widespread criticism. She portrayed Bobby Deol's third wife in the film and was at the center of a scene where her character is assaulted by Deol's character, Abrar Haque, post their marriage.

"It is shocking, of course," Taxak said, reflecting on the scene. "Nobody expects their wedding to end that way." She described the wedding sequence as initially beautiful, with artful lighting and viral music, only to take a dark turn. "It was to tell the audience that an animal is coming; if you thought Ranbir was this way, you can expect the villain to be worse," she explained. The scene was intended to establish the villainous nature of Bobby Deol's character and to set the tone for the 'real animal' the audience should anticipate.

Taxak also addressed the chemistry between her character and Bobby Deol's, emphasizing that despite their differences, the characters loved each other, which justified their marriage. She acknowledged the public's concerns but clarified that the intent was not to depict assault but to portray a complex relationship that unfolded naturally.

Bobby Deol's Take on "Animal" and Its Impact

Bobby Deol shared his thoughts on the film's success and its transformative effect on his career. "Animal changed my life," Deol expressed, thanking director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the opportunity. "As an actor, you are always waiting for that moment when you get recognition, it is like a dream," he said, attributing his success to hard work and self-belief.

The Film's Release and Reception

'Animal' was released worldwide on December 1, 2023, and delves into the tumultuous relationship between a father and son. The film has been praised for its performances and has become a significant talking point for its bold narrative choices. With a star-studded cast and a gripping storyline, 'Animal' continues to captivate audiences and stir debate.
