Former Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik Granted Interim Bail

New Dehli: (Tamsil Shahezad Khan) Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader, Nawab Malik, has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on medical grounds. The decision comes after Nawab Malik spent 1.5 years in custody following his arrest in connection with a money laundering case on February 23, 2022

The bench of Justice Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi clarified that the bail is based solely on medical reasons, not on merit. Nawab Malik is currently hospitalized due to kidney disease and other ailments. The court has set a timeline for the filing of affidavits and responses, with the bail being granted strictly based on his medical condition.
